In the Press

"The comics TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi miraculously improvise a one-hour play at every performance. This is an impressive feat of mental athletics, but the results are also observant, complex and frequently enormously funny."

-NEW YORK TIMES

"BRILLIANT, HEARTBREAKING, MIND-BLOWING, INSPIRING! The best 50 minutes of improv comedy that we’ve ever seen. But we wouldn’t want to insult their effusive skills by speaking so simplistically. Also, it’s funny. Drink their Kool-Aid."

-TIME OUT NEW YORK

"TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi, two of the world’s finest practitioners of the art of long-form improv, create an hour long one-act play. They’re both great actors and have amazing improv chops, but it’s always hard to notice these kinds of thinks when you’re peeing your pants laughing."

-TIME OUT CHICAGO

"the cumulative effect of their spontaneous storytelling is breathtaking"

"without-a-net derring-do brand of theatre"

About the Show

Devised by acclaimed New York-based experimental theater troupe The Civilians, Gone Missing is a wry and whimsical documentary musical crafted from interviews with real-life New Yorkers.

A company of six (Emily Ackerman, Damian Baldet, Jennifer Morris, Stephen Plunkett, Robbie Sublett and Colleen Werthmann) performs more than 30 characters, intertwining stories of lost objects with those of the "finders," from a retired NYPD cop to a pet psychic, creating a unique tapestry of the ways in which we deal with and relate to things that go missing: keys, personal ID, a Gucci pump--or one's mind.

Gone Missing features set design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Sarah Beers, lighting design by Thomas Dunn and sound design by Ken Travis. Directed by Steven Cosson, with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. Gone Missing begins performances June 14th at the Barrow Street Theatre - signaling a Musical Summer along Barrow Street.

About the Show

Waterwell is proud to announce that it's 10th drop, The Last Year in the Life of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as Devised by Waterwell: A Rock Operetta opens at the Barrow Street Theatre on June 21st for a limited engagement.

Off the heels of a Drama Desk nomination for last summer's Marco Millions and The Persians... comes an all new theatrical event about one of America's most loved and misunderstood figures. Featuring an exuberant score of hard edged rock, blues and funk, The/King/Operetta draws on speeches, writings and interviews to give a blistering account of King as he barnstorms the country squaring off against the most powerful forces in politics and commerce. Facing criticism on all sides and even doubts from his closest advisors, he speaks his mind fearlessly and fights to the end against war, poverty, even his own government.
