In 2013, American-born, Irish-bred Des Bishop moved to China, became fluent in Mandarin, and followed through on his dream of performing stand-up to a Chinese audience. This adventure also led him on a search to find a girlfriend at a Beijing marriage market, to a job in a very busy restaurant, and eventually to an entertaining appearance on a TV dating show with 40 million viewers!  Made in China is a funny fantastic journey through a country (and people) we all feel we need to know better.

The openness and honesty of his presenting style combined with his restless imagination and insightful comic observations make Des Bishop a “must-see” for fans of unique, enquiring and entertaining comedy.
